I was a cynic. I didn't think Barack could win. He's half black, yes, but that wasn't my main concern. I was so disillusioned after the Democratic defeat in 2004 that I wasn't convinced the American people could ever get it right.
My faith has been restored in the American voting public.
I am looking forward to the end of the politics of fear and the beginning of the politics of hope.
